Towers vote officially delayed
District13 Councilmember Gay Donnell Willis
Dallas City Council granted council member Gay Donnell Willis’ request to postpone the vote until Nov. 10. When asking for the delay, Willis said she is working with the developer and the nearby Royal Lane Condominiums to reach a “good neighbor agreement.” Willis and representatives for the lead developer previously said a delay would allow for an improved traffic plan to be developed.
Oct. 14’s deferral was granted after about 10 minutes of discussion among council members. District 12 council member Cara Mendelsohn asked if other portions of the planned development could be altered before November’s vote, citing concerns she’s heard from residents about the project’s height.
“We are in support, 100%, of this corner developing,” Doug Hazelbaker, a former Plano city planning commissioner and a key spokesperson for Preserve Preston Hollow said during the Aug. 6 meeting. “The uses are fine. The height needs to come down.”
